High blood pressure is sometimes called "the silent killer." It causes serious health problems even though you may never feel sick. One secret to staying healthy is understanding blood pressure and keeping it at the right level.

What Can You Do?

Great news! If you have high blood pressure, it doesn't have to stay that way. You can check it, and you can change it.  How?  Check your pressure regularly and track it, exercise, reduce the amount of salt you eat, and take your medications.

Check It, Change It was developed through a collaboration of the American Heart Association and Durham Health Innovations.  The Community Health Coalition is one of sixteen Blood Pressure Monitoring Sites in Durham County.  Novartis provided the full funding for this initiative.
